What to do when the gift you reserved is out of stock
Decide whether to try another shop, ask about a substitute, or release your reservation before the occasion.
If the gift you reserved is out of stock, first check whether another shop has the exact item. If a change would affect fit, compatibility, or delivery, ask the organizer or free the reservation and choose something else.
Check that it really is the same item
Look beyond the product photo. Two refill packs can look identical and fit different dispensers. Check the size, edition, model number, or other detail the recipient specified. Include shipping when you compare prices and use the date you need the gift, especially if you're traveling for the event.
Work out whether a swap is welcome
“A jigsaw with 500 pieces, any picture” leaves room to choose. “The extra controller for this console” calls for a compatibility check. If the list is unclear, ask the organizer privately: “The one on the list is sold out. Would the paperback version work?”
Free the reservation if you're moving on
On Piki, reopen the guest link and cancel from My reservations. Use the original browser or request an access link with the email you added when reserving. If neither is available, let the organizer know. Don't leave the original gift marked as taken while also choosing another one unless you still plan to buy both.
Make a late gift a deliberate choice
If you know this is the gift they want and the shop has a believable delivery date, send a card with a short note about what's coming. If timing matters to the recipient, such as a book for an upcoming trip, pick something that will arrive before they leave.
