Wish lists

How to share a wish list in WhatsApp or a family group chat

Send one private link with a short note that explains who the list is for, what is optional, and how to reserve an idea.

Share your wish list in the chat your guests already use. Put the link on its own line and explain what people can do with it. A message that makes sense on a phone is more useful than a long introduction no one reads.

Use the guest link

Copy the share link from the list, then open it in a private browser window before you send it. You should see what a guest sees. Check the list name, the item notes, and whether you included anything that should stay in a direct message.

Send a message guests can act on

Try: “A few people asked what Lena would like. Here are her birthday ideas: [link]. Gifts are optional. If you choose something, please reserve it on the list so someone else doesn't buy the same thing.” Swap in the occasion and leave the rest short.

Keep one current link in the chat

Pin the message if the group uses pins. If a gift sells out, edit the item on the list and leave the link where it is. When somebody asks for ideas later, reply with the same link. A screenshot can't show which items are still available.

Be deliberate about forwarding

A Piki link is private by sharing. Someone who receives a forwarded link can open it. Use a smaller group or direct messages if the whole chat doesn't need to see the list. Put an address or delivery instructions in a separate message to the guest who needs them.
